We recently did a story about a man from Tokyo who married a 16 year old hologram of an anime character. Well in another bizarre event, a woman from Leeds got married to a 91 year old chandelier. The woman, Amanda Liberty, identifies as objectum sexual. This refers to someone who is sexually attracted to inanimate objects.
34 year old, Amanda, got engaged to a German chandelier who she has named Lumiere. She also got a tattoo of the partner of her dreams on her left arm. This will probably serve as a reminder if she ever forgets that she actually married a chandelier. The tattoo was made by the star of the hit British television show Tattoo Fixers, Alice Perrin. If you don’t believe in love at first sight, ask Amanda. She was at first hesitant about the tattoo. However, once she got the approval from Lumiere, which apparently she did, all was good. “Lumiere also thought it was brilliant, she gave me the energy telling me it was great.”
She first spotted her to-be fiance on eBay. It was originally crafted in Germany and is 28 inches wide. Size apparently does matter because she thought at once that the chandelier was the one for her. “She was based in Germany and although I knew it would be tricky to get her home, I knew I needed to find a way to make her mine. I couldn’t stop thinking about her and how beautiful she was – she has such a beautiful shape, and I could feel really amazing energy coming from her. After buying the chandelier, I patiently waited for her to be imported into the UK and after six days of waiting, she was finally in my arms. She had been disassembled for her own safety, but once I put all her pieces together and she settled in to her new home, our relationship just went from strength to strength.”
Amanda first fell in love with a drum kit aged 14, before falling in love with the Statue of Liberty years after, whom she affectionately refers to as ‘Libby’. Lumiere is a part of a 25 chandelier collection that Amanda has. Even though she is now ‘engaged’ to Lumiere, she considers herself to be in an open relationship. I’m sure she came to this conclusion post discussing it with Lumiere. She cuddles and kisses Lumiere, however prefers to sleep with Jewel, which is another portable chandelier.
