Recently at Rutgers University, a study carried out by Dr. M Maral Mouradian in rodents showed that coffee could potentially cure Parkinson’s and dementia. The study was published at the proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Dementia shares symptoms with both Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. It occurs when alpha-synuclein protein appears in nerve cells in the brain.

The medication for both involves reducing the protein’s gene aggregation and expression.

This study showed that caffeine along with ETH compound present in coffee work to prevent the accumulation of the toxic protein in the brain of mice.

The doctors are hopefully that a simple everyday ingredient like coffee could help in curing a life taking disease.
