A well made documentary series or film is quite gripping as well as entertaining. Not only that, it will make you a whole lot smarter and provide you with facts which you can show-off in front of your friends. Netflix is loaded with such documentaries; however this is an extensive list. Since I have a lot of free time, I took the effort to list down some of the best of the lot. So read on;
Wild Wild Country
Probably one of the most well made documentary series I have seen, Wild Wild Country tells you about the life of Osho, or Rajneesh as he is more frequently referred to in the series. Osho was an Indian godman and leader of the Rajneesh movement. The documentary explains about the rise and fall of his incredible project. The best part of this series is that all his closest followers are interviewed in this.
This is one film that every Indian student, parent, and teacher must watch. It is based on an issue which is extremely common in India; student suicide. The film is set in AIIMS, however it is not about that particular institute only. It is mainly about how the pressure to succeed, rigorous competition, and stress are slowly driving students towards this unfortunate step.
What later came to be known as the ‘pizza bomber heist’, Evil Genius is a must watch documentary. The 4 part series tells you about a dazed man who walks into a bank in a small town of Pennsylvania with a ticking bomb around his neck. Well I would not share further details with you, however if you are looking for a true crime story, this is it.
Hot Girls Wanted
The documentary gives you an insight to the world of young porn stars and escorts. Written and made by a group of journalists, the film will take you through the dangers of hiring young and amateur performers. Extremely informative while being respectable at the same time, Hot Girls Wanted will shock and outrage you.
Netflix’s seven-part documentary is a must watch crime story. It is an account of the unsolved murder of a nun in 1960s Baltimore. It is a part of a much wider conspiracy and the series slowly pulls out thread after thread of this shocking but true event. The name of the killer remains a mystery till-date.
