Mewtwo is returning to Pokémon Go, on tier five raids. With a new form, Armored Mewtwo is hitting raids starting July 10 at 4 p.m. ET.
Not much is known about Armored Mewtwo, other than it’s form, we have to see how the form will appear in the upcoming Pokémon movie Mewtwo Strikes Back: Evolution. It’s the same, but a little altered on the original armored-up Mewtwo we saw in the original Pokémon movie.
It’s decked out in armor, it’s unknown at this point if this form will be more focused on defense stats,’Armored’. Having Mewtwo back in raids in any form is super nice. Mewtwo is one of Pokémon Go’s strongest offensive pokémons, after all. But this Pokémon will certainly be worth going on the hunt for, at least for some candy.
Created by scientists funded by Team Rocket, Mewtwo is a clone of the legendary Pokémon Mew. Mewtwo murders the scientists when he realises that the scientists consider Pokémon as project and not a sentient being.
In the wreckage of the lab, Mewtwo is approached by Giovanni, the leader of Team Rocket, who offers to help Mewtwo focus its powers. After agreeing, Mewtwo is placed within a set of armour that will help regulate his powerful abilities.
